Then we "sailed" to Aegina. Here can be seen the rest of the last eruption of Methana sometimes 1700 ac.

The landfill (rubbish) on a Greek island

We got a good berth from town quay

The town is very lively, lot of boats and tourists, but we liked it.

Pistachio - pistaasipähkinöitä

on 18.5.2025 all museums in Greece are free, so we visited the archeological museum in Aegina. The pots and reliefs are from the Apollon temple just behind the museum

Behind the town starts pistachio tree fields. Aegina is famous from their pistachios

Next day was our engagement day. We got engaged in Athens while on an Interrail trip on May 18, 1981, exactly 44 years ago.

It is only 18nm to Pireus, so we took a high speed boat to there (20 euro per person)

A lunch in a family restaurant, simply but very tasty. Pasticcio and lamb from spies

We visited also the Acropolis museum. See museum pictures from own folder.

From Pireus to Monastriki and back with Metro
